Look at the smiling face. How couldn’t you love that!!!!
Well, another week, and more progress has been made.
This past weekend, was a great weekend for my little man!! At the end of last week, we changed his medicine dosage, and the improvements in his focus and attentiveness has been great. The teachers at school have said he is extremely focused, and he has even gotten to the point that he will be able to pass his language/sight word section of testing this week, which is awesome. 2 weeks ago, there was concern he wouldn’t make enough progress to move forward. This is a big relief, and why my little man motivates me so much!!
Like with all trial periods with the medications, finding the right mix with the dosage, etc., there are some side effects, and his seems to be not wanting to go to sleep, thus causing me and my wife a lack of sleep. But, if falling asleep is the only issue that he is having right now, I’ll take it as we’ve made great strides in such a little time.
I’m still learning, and everyday pick up new tidbits of information about dealing with my little man, but I know that my patience will never wane as we get through the early stages of things.
Hopefully, after 30 days, we’ll have found our correct dosage, and we’ll be on our way!!! For now, it is trial and tribulation, but again, all worth the process for his benefit. He has been an absolute trooper everyday with taking his medicine, and even today bragged to his teacher about taking his medicine so it could help him calm down and stay focused. It was great to hear!!!!
I’m so happy that we are moving in a positive direction and even more relieved that despite the medication, my son still has that sparkle in his eyes, and still has that little mischievous streak in him that I so love.
I appreciate you taking the time to follow our progression, and the support has been outstanding.
Chad
