As of this Sunday, I’ll be exactly 2 weeks away from my goal of my 1st marathon. September 23 will be bittersweet. A combination of a lot of miles and sweat, and the pure joy and satisfaction of taking my body to its limits and succeeding. I’m just hoping I can get rid of all of this sinus drainage and congestion really quick. Not being able to breathe really sucks. Yesterday, I got in my 1st run since my 20 miler this past weekend. I had kind of heavy legs, and I think it is from being sick earlier in the week. Still got in 6 miles out at a local trail that is a lot of hills and climbs. I guess it would be considered a pretty decent pace for a run of this nature. I guess it is taper time, so we’ll just see. I’ll get at least 10 miles in this coming up Sunday, and next weekend, I’ll be running a 10K, which I think will be a great tune-up for the 23rd. My little man will also be running in his 1st mile race, and I can’t wait to see and be a part of that.
Now, in preparation for my marathon, I have to get my running outfit to match my shoes. Here are what I’ll be running in:
I’ve got a pretty good idea what I’ll be running in, and I guarantee you won’t miss me in a crowd, that is for sure. Looking at royal blue and neon yellow compression socks, either royal blue or fierce yellow shorts and either royal blue or fierce yellow shirt. Needless to say, I’ll be bright!!!!
