Running4theMasses has been updated for 9.14.12. Something new to get you going!!!!
So, it is now 9 days and counting, and with each day we get closer, my heart starts to beat a little louder. Excitement, fear, wondering. All of the thoughts and emotions of what I’ve been training for have started to hit me like a ton of bricks, but I know deep down, I’m destined to do this, and who knows where things will go from here.
Yesterday, it was cool out over my lunch hour, and I was able to get a great run in. For me, the average pace doesn’t tell the story. When I can go out and hold a consistent pace under 7 minutes for a seven minute period twice during an interval run, good things are happening. I had great shoes on my feet (Mizuno Elixir 7), I had a great supplement in my system (@Synergenics) that only made me feel strong, relaxed, and energized, and a great feeling of personal strength from my @RKSworkout regiment. I haven’t run or held a pace like that for almost 15 years. It lets me know I’m doing something right. Do I intend to keep that pace for 26.2 miles, someday, but not in 9 days.
This weekend will be a good test for me as my wife and I are running in the Corporate Cup this Sunday, and our little man is doing his 1st race as well. It will be good to see where my fitness is in a more energized setting, where the pace will be pushed slightly more than just running on my own and training.
The @GreatGoats have finalized their 1st GOATZ t-shirts for the October 28 races. What a great design. Check it out:
I can’t wait to embark on this journey either, an ultra-marathon. 1 feat deserves another, right?
